Nokia Growth Partners invests in Intermedia

Telecom Lead Europe: Nokia Growth Partners, a growth
stage venture firm focused on mobile technology, services and media, has
strategically invested in Intermedia.

Intermedia is a provider of cloud services and Microsoft
Exchange hosting. Intermedia manages 450,000 premium Microsoft hosted Exchange
mailboxes. It distributes its suite of services to 45,000 business customers
directly and through its 10,000 + global channel partners.

“Nokia Growth Partners invests in industry leading
companies that are changing the face of mobility and whose businesses can
benefit from a deeper relationship with Nokia. Intermedia is a leader in
cloud-based enterprise services, a rapidly changing market where mobile
offerings will be important,” said Paul Asel, managing partner of Nokia Growth
Partners.

Nokia announced a strategic alliance with Microsoft in
February 2011. Since Q3 2011, Nokia has launched Microsoft Apps for Symbian
smartphones as well as four Nokia Lumia smartphone models using Microsoft’s
Windows Phone platform.

In May 2011, Intermedia was acquired by Oak Hill Capital
Partners and continues expand its cloud service offerings, growing its user
base over 40 percent year-over-year.

“Mobility and cloud computing are inextricably
interwoven. Over 80 percent of our customer base uses Intermedia’s mobility
services, and that number grows monthly. Outside of hosted Exchange, mobility
is our largest offering to customers. With Nokia Growth Partners we are excited
to broaden our opportunities in the mobility space,” said Phil Koen, CEO,
Intermedia.

Intermedia recently released two innovative mobile apps
to make cloud management even easier for our customers’ administrators and
end-users.
