Mtel taps Amdocs to achieve 80% cut in time to market for new offers

Mtel, a mobile service provider in Bulgaria and part of the Telekom Austria Group, has deployed the Amdocs Master Enterprise Catalog.

With the deployment of Amdocs solution, Mtel aims to reduce operational IT complexity and time to market for new offers by more than 80 percent.

Amdocs in a statement on Thursday said that its catalog has assisted Mtel to reduce the number of processes for introducing a new product, including testing processes. Amdocs said its catalog performs testing on incremental product changes. This mean, there is no need to upload the entire catalog database with each product change.

Mtel also benefited from search and filtering of product information and increase in free catalog space by 95 percent.

“With the Amdocs Master Enterprise Catalog, we can push out even complex offers, with predefined tariff plans and discounts, in less than three days from idea to production, and continue to excite our customers in an industry where innovation is happening at a pace like never before,” said Horst Pertl, chief technology officer at Mtel.

Telekom Austria Group capital expenditures fell 57.4 percent in 2014 to EUR 757.4 million.

Bulgarian revenues in 2014 were impacted by a further reduction in prices and termination rates, declining by 7.1 percent to EUR 371.3 million despite positive momentum from the growing importance of mobile data traffic.

In 2013, Amdocs signed five-year IT managed services contract with Mtel Bulgaria to handle IT operations, including data center, disaster recovery and business support systems (BSS) operations, across all lines of business. As per the IT deal, Amdocs will deliver additional managed services, including application development, integration management, testing and hardware procurement and maintenance.
