Metaswitch Networks supports NHC for core voice switching

Metaswitch Networks has supplied software and equipment to New Horizon Communications (NHC) for its core voice switching functionality to build IP-based voice infrastructure.

NHC will use Metaswitch components to add to the capabilities of its newVoice service and will provide flexible options for Hosted PBX, SIP Trunking and Unified Communications (UC).

These components include Metaswitch’s Perimeta Session Border Controller, deployed in a distributed environment; and Metaswitch’s MetaView Service Assurance Servers (SAS) for always-on diagnostics, including internal policy application and network protocol tracing.

Metaswitch’s Multiservice Telephony Application Server (MTAS) is being deployed for IP call control, UC, voicemail and other features.

NHC will also use Metaswitch’s Accession Communicator for desktop and mobile, to deliver better UC experience, allowing subscribers to move calls among other Accession clients; mobile phones on 3G, 4G or Wi-Fi; and fixed-line phones.

Stephen Gibbs, NHC’s president and chief operating officer, said: “We believe our customers will experience enhanced performance and service as a result of our new partnership with Metaswitch, and we look forward to a strong relationship for years to come.”
