Telecom Lead India: Infinera, a provider of long-haul
wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) optical networking technology, has
selected the JDSU ONT 100G tester solution for its new Multi-Terabit
DTN-X platform.
Infinera will use JDSU’s solution to validate the quality
performance of its customers’ 100G solutions while demonstrating the DTN-X
platform on the Infinera Express, a mobile demo truck, during the Optical
Fiber Communication Conference and Exposition (OFC) in Los Angeles.
“Infinera’s demonstrations with JDSU’s ONT 100G
solution are a testament to our ongoing customer collaboration efforts to
ensure that service providers receive high quality products and verify their
performance before deploying 100G services in their network,” said Lars
Friedrich, vice president and general manager in JDSU’s Communications Test and
Measurement business segment.
The Infinera Express will use JDSU’s 100G test solutions
during 500 Gb/s super-channels, coherent modulation and digital automation
demonstrations with communications service provider customers and at industry
forums worldwide.
“The ONT 100G solution helps test multiple
client-side services of 10GbE, 40GbE and 100GbE on a line-side 500G
super-channel on the DTN-X. Ultimately this enables our service provider
customers to confidently deploy Infinera solutions maximizing efficiency of
their optical transport network,” said Michael Capuano, vice president of
corporate marketing at Infinera.
JDSU
believes its ONT 100G solution is well positioned to demonstrate end customer
benefits and technical advantages in all required areas such as physical layer
testing, high speed Ethernet, IP and OTN switching.
Recently, JDSU launched its 8500 series 40 Gigabit per second (40G) coherent (DP-QPSK)
transponder. With this power and cost efficient transponder solution, JDSU aims
to increase the adoption rate of 40G coherent transmissions.
