F5 Networks chalks out strategies to enhance presence in Indian telecom market

Telecom Lead India: Application
Delivery Networking provider F5 Networks has chalked out its strategies to
enhance presence in Indian telecom and enterprises market.

At present, F5 Networks India works with 8 out of top 10
telecom operators in the country.

F5 Networks MD Anil Pochiraju said India is one of its
main markets in the world. The company is bullish about India opportunities. In
line with its growth plans, F5 Networks India grew its manpower to 12 from 3 in
2010. In the third quarter, the company added 100 employees globally.

Recently, Analysys Mason said India’s non-voice wireless
revenue is estimated to grow roughly at $15.2 billion by 2015, contributing to
31 percent of overall revenue. Indians are becoming more comfortable with the
concept of e-commerce, online trading and online bookings. This will bring more
data revenue to telecom service providers.

F5 Networks will leverage opportunities from the mobile data
growth.

Mobile data traffic is increasing, driving many mobile
operators to switch from a 3G network to all-internet protocol
(IP) network, such as LTE, to manage the high volume of traffic and
provide a high quality customer experience. Service providers need deployment
strategies based on robust, telco-grade Diameter routing for the deluge of
signaling messages in their network.

F5 Networks MD said Indian telecom service provider
business in India is growing faster than the company’s global SP business.

In India and globally, SP business brings around 20-25
percent revenue to F5 Networks.

For the third quarter of fiscal 2012, F5 Networks posted
revenue of $352.6 million, up 21.3 percent from $290.7 million in the third
quarter of fiscal 2011.

F5 Networks is also increasing presence among 4G players in
India. To enhance presence in 4G markets, F5 Networks recently acquired
Traffix, a provider of 4G Diameter signaling products for telecom service
providers.

The F5 Networks MD said F5’s expertise in IP for
applications along with Traffix has the unique depth and breadth to make the
transition from 3G to 4G and IMS much simpler, cost effective, and non-disruptive
for carriers.

F5 products give customers the agility they need to align IT
with changing business conditions, deploy scalable solutions on demand, and
manage mobile access to data and services. Enterprises, service and cloud
providers, and leading online companies worldwide rely on F5 to optimize their
IT investments and drive business forward.
