Sony Mobile ties up with Airtel to launch Xperia ion in India for Rs 36,999

Telecom Lead India: Sony
Mobile Communications has tied up with Bharti Airtel to launch its
Xperia ion in India.

 

Sony Mobile has priced Xperia ion at Rs 36,999.

 

Upon buying a new XperiaTM ion, Airtel mobile customers
will get 500MB of free 3G data per month for 3 months as well as 200
minutes of mobile TV for a period of 2 months.

 

Last month, Sony Mobile launched mid-range
XperiaTM smartphones such as Neo L for Rs 19,449 and Go for Rs 19,949.

 

Sony Mobile products are available in retail stores across
India.

 

Prasun Kumar, marketing head, Sony Mobile, said the company
is getting overwhelming response for its Xperia range of smartphones in India.

 

The product launch is happening at a time when Sony Mobile
is yet to announce its India head after the departure of P Balaji. P Balaji, MD
of Sony Mobile, will join Nokia India soon.

 

This premium Android smartphone brings everything in HD
experience to a 4.6″ (11.7cm) screen. The new smartphone boasts some impressive
specs and hardware. The Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine allows
crisp images, without any jagged edges. With reduced light reflection, the
picture stays clear at outdoors too. This Wi-Fi smartphone lets users
wirelessly share their memories on the choice of HD screen.

 

The recently launched Xperia Go is a rugged, dustproof
and waterproof device. This smartphone comes with wet finger tracking
technology making itself a loud and powerful impression for adventurers and
sporty consumers.

 

The Xperia Neo L, latest entrant to the existing Sony
Xperia Neo series of smartphone and comes with extended gaming capabilities.
With 4 inch (10.2cm) display the device looks bigger and the sleek look is
exclusive to the neo series of Android based smartphones.
