NTT, Chunghwa & Edgecore Unveil Breakthrough Cross-Border AI Infrastructure Powering the Next Era of Data Centers
NTT, Chunghwa Telecom and Accton/Edgecore have formed a partnership to advance distributed data-centre innovation by integrating Edgecore’s open networking platforms with NTT’s IOWN All-Photonics Network and Photonic Disaggregated Computing technologies. The first deployment links Japan and Taiwan, enabling Japanese data-centres to handle high-performance AI workloads for Taiwan while addressing local power and capacity constraints. The collaboration delivers high-speed 400 Gbps connectivity, flexible digital-resource management via a DCI controller, and improved efficiency for sectors like manufacturing, finance and government.
SK Telecom Blocks Mass Data-Leak Payout, Invests ₩700B in Customer Security
SK Telecom has declined a mediation proposal to pay ₩300,000 (~US$200) to each of 3,998 data-leak victims, citing its own proactive compensation efforts and security investments. Only a fraction of the estimated 23 million affected users filed for mediation, as broad compensation could cost around ₩6.9 trillion. SKT is focusing on long-term security through a ₩700 billion, 5-year Information Security Innovation Plan and a Customer Assurance Package including SIM replacements and waived cancellation penalties.

Booz Allen Hamilton has secured a $99 million U.S. Navy contract to deploy and sustain advanced 5G and wireless networks across Military Sealift Command vessels, integrating LEO satellite links, Wi-Fi, and 5G for secure, high-performance maritime connectivity.
