EXFO testing solutions demo at ECOC Exhibition 2018 in Italy

EXFO announced the new 400G test module featuring its innovative Open Transceiver System (OTS) targeting decision makers at data centers, carriers and network equipment manufacturers.

OTS enables compatibility between current or future high-speed transceivers and EXFO’s test platforms. Inserts to test specific transceiver types, including those used in 400G systems, eliminate the need to replace entire testing modules and can be interchanged directly in the lab, out in the field or on the production floor.

The goal of data centers, carriers and network equipment manufacturers include upgrading core, backhaul and interconnect infrastructures to support 400G speeds and 5G services while building labs to develop solutions for future ecosystems.

EXFO’s OTS delivers the capability to swap out transceiver inserts, redefines flexibility and sets a new benchmark for evaluating test equipment ROI. The OTS debuts on the new FTBx-88460 Power Blazer.

“These activities, relationships and new innovations contribute to our goal of delivering smart solutions that help our customers get the most from their testing investments while staying ahead of the 400G curve,” Stephane Chabot, EXFO’s Vice President, Test and Measurement, said.

EXFO earlier announced an automated solution that combines testing of polarity, continuity and connector cleanliness into a single solution that delivers an optimal combination of fit, cost and reporting capabilities.

The ConnectorMax MPO Link Test Solution pairs a light source at one end of the cable with a fiber inspection probe for analysis at the other end. The solution provides a clear pass/fail diagnosis of MPO 12 and MPO 24 links in a single report.

This is the best MPO inspection tool on the market for field technicians to remove causes of network failures including contaminated connectors. Field engineers can check polarity and continuity during the inspection.

Telecom operators’ engineers can use ConnectorMax MPO Link Test Solution for shifting their central offices into data centers and deploying MPO cables with 12, but more and more, 24 fibers – for critical tests.
