Blue Cross Blue Shield selects NaviNet for secure electronic provider communications

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Delaware (BCBSD) announced it
selected NaviNet as its internet portal for healthcare provider communications.

By using NaviNet, BCBSD providers will be able to
electronically exchange real-time practice information, including
eligibility/benefits, claims status inquiries and authorizations. In addition,
providers will have access to a comprehensive online resource center containing
policy information.

Having access to Delaware’s largest insurer through
NaviNet is a significant step forward in improving the efficiency of healthcare
delivery in our state,” said David M. Bercaw, president of the Medical Society
of Delaware.

Many providers spend a great deal of time manually
managing insurance data,” said Paul A. Kaplan, M.D., vice president, Medical
Management and chief medical officer, BCBSD.

By selecting NaviNet, we expect to realize improved
efficiencies in records administration that will ultimately enhance both
provider and member satisfaction,” Kaplan added.

NaviNet recognizes that real-time, secure access to
practice and policy data is critical to streamlining physician practice
operations and the patient experience,” said Brad Waugh, president and CEO,
NaviNet.

By offering NaviNet services, BCBSD is demonstrating its
significant commitment to provider and member satisfaction. NaviNet believes
that the key to improving healthcare is to expand the delivery by efficiently
managing healthcare information,” Waugh added.
