Asia Pacific communications test equipment market to grow to $823.7 million in 2017

The evolution of technologies such as LTE and WiMAX will have a ripple effect in the communication test equipment market, with vendors scrambling to develop cutting-edge test solutions and products.
These novel test solutions will ensure service providers’ conformance to industry standards and in turn, offer best-in-class services to customers in the region.
The roll-out of innovative test solutions has to be backed by excellent quality of service (QoS) and quality of end-user experience (QoE) for the service providers to stand out in the market.
To provide QoS and QoE simultaneously, service providers have to make certain that the testing process requires little effort and time, says the analyst of this research. Once they achieve this, test equipment vendors can hope for significant investments in advanced test and measurement equipment by the service providers for large-scale roll-out of sophisticated technologies.
The growth prospects of the market is tempered to some degree by the high degree of competition among Tier-I multinational test equipment vendors and the low awareness levels in Southeast Asian countries such as Vietnam. Conversely, the intense competition is spurring vendors to provide turnkey solutions and strategically position products based on different application
types and customer needs.
Given the vast potential of the advanced communication test equipment market and the cost consciousness of customers, test equipment manufacturers have to price their products competitively and provide sufficient training to operators, notes the analyst.
Establishing local presence in a country will also go a long way in helping vendors provide top-notch service and making the most of the opportunities afforded by this market.
