Tata Docomo to expand 3G network in Karnataka

Indian telecom operator Tata Docomo or Tata Teleservices today said it plans to expand 3G network in Karnataka during the current financial year.

Tata Docomo recently expanded its 3G network in the state by investing in 1000 new 3G towers and 500 new 2G towers across Karnataka.

The ongoing 3G expansion will allow Tata Docomo to strengthen its network in both rural and urban regions in the southern state. To address the demand of voice and data connectivity, the company has devised value based products.

Tata Docomo, meanwhile, opened its 45th store in Bangalore. This is the 74th Tata Docomo store in Karnataka.

“Karnataka is one of our leading 3G markets in the country with an ever increasing customer base,” said Ashok Ghose, MBU head, Karnataka & Kerala Circle, Tata Docomo.

Tata Docomo has more than 10,000 towers, more than 500 distributors and over 60,000 retail touchpoints and 160 technologically advanced branded retail stores across key towns.

Vodafone has more than 9,800 branded retail stores, covering over 1.54 million sq.ft. attracting more than 115millionfootfalls annually. Vodafone India opened 200 Vodafone stores and 1,000 Vodafone Mini Stores across the country since April 2014.
