Optiemus and Corning ink JV to set up manufacturing facility in India

India’s Optiemus Infracom and Corning International today announced a joint venture to set up a manufacturing facility to produce finished cover glass parts for use in mobile consumer electronic devices.
Corning fiberUS-based Corning is one of the world’s leading innovators in glass and glass-ceramic materials for mobile consumer electronics applications. Optiemus Infracom is India’s leading telecommunications and manufacturing group.

“We intend to emerge as one of the top manufacturers of finished cover glass parts for use in mobile consumer electronic devices in the next five years,” Ashok Kumar Gupta, Chairman of Optiemus Infracom, said.

Optiemus Infracom did not reveal further details about the proposed manufacturing facility to produce finished cover glass parts for use in mobile consumer electronic devices.
