Huawei demos video business solutions at IBC 2014

Telecom network vendor Huawei today said it has showcased its video business solutions at IBC 2014 in Amsterdam.

Huawei recommends telecom operators to invest in video business ecosystem to capitalize on the video traffic growth, in particular the mobile traffic growth.

The Chinese telecom equipment maker has developed a Video Everywhere framework to focus on three categories of video traffic — entertainment videos, communication videos and video creation. Huawei has also designed business models for global telecom operators to provide enhanced user experience for end users.

Jeffrey Gao, chief marketing officer of Huawei Western Europe Region, said: “The key question is whether operators can embrace the trend of video everywhere to enable a better connected world and create a brand new business model, or choose to stick with the old business models and risk losing the battle in the new era of video content everywhere.”

Huawei said it has already implemented more than 50 commercial deployments for digital home, with 26 million subscribers. It has the top 5 trial sites for LTE broadcast and provides video services to more than 30,000 small and medium enterprises (SME).
