DISH Network reported revenue of $3.46 billion in Q1 2018 vs $3.68 billion in Q1 2017 as it lost 94,000 pay-TV subscribers and pay-TV ARPU fell to $84.50 from $86.55.
DISH Network’s subscriber-related revenue dipped to $3.42 billion from $3.64 billion. Net income dropped to $368 million from $376 million.
The company closed the first quarter with 10.845 million DISH TV subscribers and 2.303 million Sling TV subscribers. DISH Network said its Pay-TV subscriber base dropped to 13.148 million from 13.528 million.
DISH Network said net Pay-TV subscribers declined approximately 94,000 subscribers in the first quarter, compared to a decline of approximately 143,000 in the first quarter 2017.
DISH TV subscribers declined approximately 185,000 and Sling TV subscribers increased approximately 91,000. DISH TV’s average monthly subscriber churn rate was 1.47 percent versus 1.92 percent for first quarter 2017.
