American telecom carrier Verizon Wireless has decided to hire more than 400 employees in Alabama this year.
These are full time positions, said Verizon Wireless. The new hiring is targeted at supporting the company’s rapid growth.
Verizon Wireless said more than three hundred of the available positions are for customer service-related opportunities at the Verizon Wireless state headquarters located in Huntsville.
The company also is filling positions in retail. Most of the jobs are based in the Huntsville area, including Decatur, Madison, Florence, Guntersville and Cullman.
Verizon, which employs more than 1,600 employees statewide, and over 176,000 employees company-wide, is also hiring in Birmingham and Dothan, mostly in retail sales.
