VEECON ROK, a joint venture between VEECON and ROK Group of Companies, has tapped BSNL for its multi-billion-dollar public WiFi project across 27 cities in India.
VEECON ROK will be investing $5 billion in the next 3-5 years in India’s WiFi infrastructure to connect the country.
VEECON ROK has selected BSNL for billing, marketing, branding and servicing. VEECON ROKiT Network will provide the investment and technology.
BSNL will offer free WiFi service for all for 3 months as part of an introductory offer. BSNL will charge Rs 260-360 per month.
BSNL has recently installed over 130,000 miles of fiber optic communications infrastructure across India. The VEECON ROK partnership will enable wide area connectivity of more than 500 million potential WiFi users.
