The continual rise in remote working means businesses need ever-more comprehensive, secure, and streamlined enterprise IT management systems to handle increasing use and demand. Now, in response, managed SD-WAN provider Charter Communications’ Spectrum brand (a suite of advanced broadband services) has launched its innovative new Enterprise Network Edge platform in partnership with Fortinet: an “all-inclusive secure SD-WAN and LAN switch combination designed to ease the growing complexity of enterprise IT management”.

Simple network solutions

Committed to effectively simplifying enterprise IT management, the Enterprise Network Edge platform provides “cloud-based portal access to advanced security and SD-WAN capabilities via Fortinet Secure SD-WAN, which quickly reroutes and prioritizes traffic in the event of security breaches”. It also offers a range of co-management and connectivity options. Anticipating future consumer demand for an amalgamation of both SD-WAN and legacy WAN infrastructure, Enterprise Network Edge additionally supports hybrid WAN configurations throughout different locations. With Enterprise Network Edge’s LAN Management, networks can also improve LAN traffic flow, grow capacity as needed, centralize administration, and ultimately strengthen network protection.

Moreover, the innovative Enterprise Network Edge platform also features Virtual Edge and Remote Access to facilitate private connections and application-aware routing across private, hybrid, and public clouds (such as, Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, and Microsoft Azure). Nevertheless, a reliable network infrastructure isn’t all employees need to work from home productively. In particular, creating a functional home office space is key for maintaining a focused and work-oriented mindset. A home office also helps employees better establish and maintain strong work-life boundaries, which can become difficult when working from home.

Meeting modern business needs

“Enterprises are looking for network providers to take a consultative approach and to design customized solutions that are optimized for their specific business needs,” said Frost & Sullivan’s Roopa Honnachari, Vice President of Research for Network and Edge Services. “With the launch of Enterprise Network Edge, Spectrum Enterprise now has a wide range of managed services and connectivity options targeting the enterprise market that could accelerate the adoption of next generation SD-WAN services as companies get back to business as usual.” That said, the rising popularity of remote work in recent years was already accelerating SD-WAN adoption before the pandemic. Now, by providing remote workers with comprehensive and efficient access to corporate applications and resources, Enterprise Network Edge has revolutionized enterprise IT management as a whole, while also highlighting the prime importance of application security and functionality.

“Organizations require a reliable, secure and high-performance network in order to support demanding software applications,” said Bob Schroeder, Vice President of Enterprise Data Product Management at Spectrum Enterprise. “Enterprise Network Edge provides the support, flexibility, security and efficiencies that cloud-first and large-scale clients need to ensure effective digital experiences while moving to hybrid network architectures and distributed operating models across locations, clouds and users.”
