mGage acquires Unicel to increase mobile messaging biz

mGage, a provider of mobile messaging, has acquired Unicel Technologies, a provider of cloud communications solutions across SMS, voice, USSD and e-mail platforms in India.

Terms of financial details were not disclosed.

The acquisition will enable mGage to become the dominant player in the Indian enterprise mobile marketing and mobile CRM market. mGage will enable more than 60 billion transactions annually. The mGage multi-channel platform serves more than 1,000 brands, enterprises and partners through a network of 800 mobile operators.

“Success in the mobile engagement market is dependent on the depth of a company’s solutions, the expertise of its team, and its global scale,” said Jay Sheth, CEO of mGage.

mGage’s platform serves both traditional brand marketers and customer care organizations within enterprises such as banking, retail, media, e-Commerce, telecommunications, automotive, travel, hospitality, and Government agencies.
