Kinetic to expand fiber network in Newton

Kinetic plans to extend its fiber network in Newton targeting to offer the gig speed fiber to more than 4,400 homes and businesses by the end of this year.
Optical fiber investmentKinetic said it will roll out fiber to another 4,100 homes and businesses by late summer of 2022, aiming  to cover approximately 99 percent of residents in the Newton city offering fiber to broadband, voice, productivity and entertainment services.

The expansion in Newton is in addition to work for expanding fiber network in 48 communities across Iowa. Kinetic is adding more than 100 jobs in Iowa alone as part of recently announced plans to add nearly 1,000 jobs nationally for an internal engineering and fiber construction organization.

Kinetic has partnered with Vermeer Corporation in Pella, Iowa, for sourcing construction equipment for the new organization.

Kinetic is involved in a $2 billion, multi-year construction initiative to expand gigabit internet service deploying fiber across its 18-state footprint, said Jeff Small, president of Kinetic.
