Reliance Jio Infocomm announced it is offering 100 minutes of calls and 100 SMS free till April 17 for all its users across the country.
All Jio phone users will continue to receive incoming calls post-validity period, Reliance Jio said in a statement.
Jio has provided alternative channels to recharge, such as UPI, ATMs, SMS and calls, among others for those who recharge through retail stores and facing difficulty due to the current lockdown.
Earlier, state-owned BSNL and private mobile operators Vodafone Idea and Bharti Airtel also announced similar initiatives to extend the validity of pre-paid customers. Telecom regulator TRAI had asked mobile service providers to extend the validity of their pre-paid customers during the spread of the coronavirus attack.
Reliance Jio earlier said it will provide basic broadband connectivity of 10 MBPS without any service charges.
The company will provide unlimited internet of 100 GB at high speed for 30 days, which thereafter will be unlimited at 1 Mbps, without any service charges. The services are provided under JioFiber brand. After the 100GB at 10 Mbps, the speed will fall to 1 Mbps.
The service is available for new customers, who can opt for higher speeds with recharges.
Jio is also offering a home gateway with a security deposit of Rs 1,500 and installation charge of Rs 1,000.
