Hawaiian Telcom offers Internet with up to 500 Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload

Hawaiian Telcom announced Hawaii’s fastest Internet, featuring speeds of up to 500 Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload.

Eric K. Yeaman, president and CEO of Hawaiian Telcom, said: “We’ve invested $125 million in our next-generation fiber network and systems and there is more to come.”

Beginning on March 2, many Oʻahu consumers will be able to sign up for broadband speed tiers of 100, 300 and 500 Mbps, with even higher speeds available to businesses.

Hawaiian Telcom will continue investing in its next-generation fiber network, expanding its reach every day.

According to a November 2013 study conducted by Cisco Systems, the average U.S. household owns nine Internet-connected devices.

Businesses’ need for higher Internet speeds has increased as more enterprises flock to the cloud to lower IT costs, ensure business continuity and enable access to their systems from anywhere. They are also utilizing more demanding applications that require higher bandwidth.
