Chunghwa Telecom reported strong financial and operational performance for the second quarter of 2026, with revenue increasing 8.2 percent year over year to NT$61.36 billion.

Operating income of Chunghwa Telecom rose 5.7 percent to NT$13.26 billion and net income climbed 4.7 percent to NT$10.64 billion. EBITDA increased 4.1 percent to NT$23.52 billion.
The telecom operator has strengthened its mobile business, with its 13.43 million mobile subscribers growing 2.3 percent.
Mobile service revenue of Chunghwa Telecom increased 3.2 percent to NT$17.60 billion. Chunghwa Telecom’s post-paid mobile ARPU, excluding IoT SIMs, rose 2.4 percent to NT$569, supported by higher 5G adoption. The company’s mobile revenue market share reached 41.2 percent, while 5G penetration among smartphone users increased to 48.8 percent, reflecting migration to premium mobile services.
Fixed broadband also delivered steady growth. Broadband subscribers of Chunghwa Telecom increased 0.6 percent to 4.47 million, including 3.82 million HiNet broadband subscribers, up 1.5 percent. Fixed broadband revenue of Chunghwa Telecom rose 3.3 percent to NT$11.97 billion. Broadband ARPU of Chunghwa Telecom increased 2.4 percent to NT$824. Demand for high-speed connectivity accelerated, with 1 Gbps and above broadband subscribers growing 61 percent, driving higher customer spending on fiber broadband services.
Digital services remained another growth engine during the quarter. Consumer digital services expanded as FIFA World Cup-related demand boosted video streaming, resulting in OTT revenue increasing 20 percent and video subscriptions reaching an annual peak.
Enterprise ICT revenue surged 32 percent, supported by strong demand for big data, cybersecurity and IDC services, while first-half ICT order intake already matched the company’s total bookings for all of 2025.
Chunghwa Telecom also accelerated its AI strategy by announcing its Lunping AI Data Center (AIDC) campus and signing an agreement with the Taiwan Stock Exchange to provide dedicated AIDC capacity in Taichung.
Chunghwa Telecom said it will continue investing in connectivity, computing and AI infrastructure through its IOWN strategy while expanding regional ICT, satellite and submarine cable capabilities. The earnings release did not disclose any capital expenditure (Capex) figures for the second quarter of 2026.
