Charter Communications, which operates under the Spectrum brand, reported revenue of $13.7 billion, marking an increase of 0.4 percent in the first quarter of 2025.

This growth was primarily driven by a significant 33.5 percent rise in residential mobile service revenue, a 1.8 percent increase in residential Internet revenue, and a 13.4 percent increase in other revenue streams. Charter posted a net income of $1.2 billion for the quarter.
Capital expenditures for the quarter totaled $2.4 billion, including $878 million allocated to line extensions.
While Spectrum lost 60,000 Internet customers during the quarter — down from a loss of 72,000 in Q1 2024 — this included about 9,000 disconnections caused by the California wildfires in January.
Spectrum continues to enhance its network, offering some of the fastest Internet speeds in the U.S. and expanding its symmetrical and multi-gigabit Internet services, including new 2×1 Gbps offerings in two markets, with further expansion planned.
The company also saw a decline in video customers, losing 181,000 in Q1 2025, an improvement from the 405,000 lost in Q1 2024. This improvement is attributed to the introduction of simplified pricing and packaging in late 2024.
By the end of March 2025, Charter had 12.7 million total video customers. Notably, Spectrum TV Select now offers up to $80 per month in free access to ad-supported streaming apps like Max, Disney+, ESPN+, and more, enhancing its value proposition.
Spectrum Mobile, available to all Spectrum Internet customers, continues to grow as a core part of Charter’s converged network strategy. Offering 5G access, no contracts, and straightforward pricing, it now includes satellite-based services through a March 2025 partnership with Skylo, a non-terrestrial network provider.
Charter’s wireline voice services continued to decline, with 278,000 customers lost in Q1 2025, nearly matching the 279,000 lost during the same period last year. As of the end of the quarter, the company had 6.6 million total wireline voice customers.
In rural markets, Charter activated 89,000 subsidized rural passings and added 39,000 new customer relationships within this footprint, demonstrating continued progress in expanding connectivity to underserved areas. Overall, Charter’s Q1 2025 performance reflects a stable financial outlook with focused growth in mobile and rural broadband, alongside ongoing investment in advanced Internet services.
