BT Capex in first quarter dips 13 percent to £516 million

BT today said its Capex (capital expenditure) for the first quarter of fiscal 2015 decreased 13 percent to £516 million.

The company said its revenue dipped two percent to £4,354 million, while profit before tax increased 7 percent to £638 million.

BT said its fiber broadband network covers more than twenty million premises.  It is passing over 70,000 additional premises each week and demand is strong with more than three million already signed up.  BT announced a further 2,500 new jobs in recent months to support strategic investments in fiber and customer service.

BT Chief Executive Officer Gavin Patterson said: “We will share more on BT One Phone for the business market as well as our other mobility plans.  The second season of BT Sport is about to start with a great line-up of content and it will continue to be free with BT Broadband.”

BT biz divisions

BT Global Services revenue fell 6 percent to £1,647 million.

BT Business revenue decreased 3 percent to £762 million.

BT Consumer grew 10 percent to £1,046 million.

BT Wholesale decreased 18 percent to £525 million, while growth of BT Outreach was flat at £1,245 million.
