CASSCOMM

CASSCOMM is deploying broadband solutions from across its entire access portfolio for both carrier and cable service delivery. These access technologies ensure that CASSCOMM has an open and flexible foundation for Software Defined Access (SD-Access) network solutions and benefits.

The service provider is using EPON OLTs for 1G EPON and 10G EPON fiber service delivery, and GPON and Active Ethernet fiber technologies to enhance gigabit broadband service availability.

CASSCOMM is initially targeting a 550-home residential network build with its new fiber services, to be followed by a three-city turn-up over the next 12 months—culminating with an upgrade to the remaining 29 communities that CASSCOMM serves.

“ADTRAN provided the expertise, innovative technologies and commitment to customer support to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations,” CASSCOMM COO Tom Allen said.

Pioneer Broadband

ADTRAN is supporting Pioneer Broadband to bring broadband internet to communities in rural Maine.

Pioneer Broadband, in association with Downeast Broadband Utility, is building an open-access fiber infrastructure in the towns of Baileyville and Calais using ADTRAN technology.

Downeast Broadband Utility contracted with Pioneer to design and build the new network to bring high-speed internet access to communities previously left behind by other major service providers.

Pioneer Broadband won the RFP from Downeast Broadband Utility by designing an open-access fiber optic network that will allow multiple service providers to utilize the network in the future. ADTRAN will supply its TA5000 GPON solution to Pioneer Broadband to build out the network.

Pioneer Broadband CEO Tim McAfee said: “We knew that ADTRAN would not only bring the right people, ADTRAN would bring the right technology and expertise for this important project.”

Pioneer Broadband is a provider of internet, telecommunications and cable television services to communities across Northern and Eastern Maine.
