India wireline subscriber base declined 0.87 percent to 26.36 million in April 2015 from 26.59 million in March 2015, according to TRAI.
BSNL has 61.36 percent share in India wireline subscriber market, followed by MTNL 13.45 percent, Bharti Airtel 12.97 percent, Tata Teleservices 6.35 percent, Reliance Communications 4.48 percent, Vodafone 0.31 percent and MTS 0.22 percent.
The share of urban subscribers in total wireline subscriber market was 81.01 percent. The share of rural subscriber in wireline market was 18.99 percent in April 2015. The wireline tele-density declined to 2.10 in April 2015 from 2.12 in March 2015. Urban wireline tele-density was 5.49 percent, while rural wireline tele-density was 0.58.
