Intel has appointed Dr. Naga Chandrasekaran as the new Chief Global Operations Officer of the Intel Foundry Manufacturing and Supply Chain organization.
Naga Chandrasekaran will join Intel from Micron, where he served as Senior Vice President for Technology Development. In his new role, he will be part of Intel’s executive leadership team, reporting directly to CEO Pat Gelsinger.
Naga Chandrasekaran succeeds Keyvan Esfarjani, who is retiring after nearly 30 years of dedicated service at Intel. Keyvan Esfarjani’s career has laid a strong foundation for Intel Foundry, significantly contributing to global supply chain resilience and manufacturing excellence, positioning Intel for long-term success.
In his new role, Naga Chandrasekaran will oversee Intel Foundry’s worldwide manufacturing operations. His responsibilities include Fab Sort Manufacturing, Assembly Test Manufacturing, strategic planning for Intel Foundry, corporate quality assurance, and supply chain management.
Naga Chandrasekaran brings over 20 years of experience from Micron, where he held various senior leadership roles. Most recently, he led Micron’s global technology development and engineering efforts, focusing on scaling current memory technologies, advanced packaging technology, and emerging technology solutions. His extensive background spans semiconductor manufacturing and R&D, including process and equipment development, device technology, and mask technology.
Naga Chandrasekaran holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Madras, a master’s and a doctorate in mechanical engineering from Oklahoma State University, a master’s in information and data science from the University of California, Berkeley, and dual executive MBAs from UCLA Anderson School of Management and the National University of Singapore.
The Intel Foundry business integrates Intel’s technology development, manufacturing, and foundry customer service and ecosystem operations, aiming to support the design and manufacture of chips for AI-driven computing.
Naga Chandrasekaran will collaborate with other Intel Foundry leaders, including Dr. Ann Kelleher, Kevin O’Buckley, and Lorenzo Flores, to drive the company’s strategic initiatives forward.
