Severina Pascu, the Deputy CEO and Chief Consumer Officer of Sunrise, will be stepping down from her position, effective from the 1st of October 2023. She will transition into an Executive Advisory role for six months.
Although leaving her current roles, Pascu will continue her association with Liberty Global, assuming a key position within the Executive Leadership Team. Initially, she will collaborate closely with Liberty Global’s CEO, Mike Fries, to address emerging challenges and prospects.
During her tenure as Chief Consumer Officer, Pascu played a pivotal role in the successful merger of Sunrise and UPC, contributing significantly to the company’s strategic and operational aspects. She led the integration of Sunrise as the main brand, launched new consumer portfolios, and implemented a strategy for flanker brands like Yallo as a full-service provider. Pascu also championed digitalization, aiming for streamlined processes and an enhanced digital customer experience. She established the Sunrise DE&I program, YouBelong!, and had a profound influence on the company’s operations and overall development.
Andre Krause, CEO of Sunrise, expressed gratitude for Pascu’s contributions and wished her success in her future endeavors. He acknowledged her vital role in shaping the company’s culture, leadership team, and consumer business development.
In the wake of Pascu’s departure, Christoph Richartz and Stefan Fuchs will take on prominent roles within Sunrise. Christoph Richartz will join the Sunrise Executive Committee as Chief Consumer Officer for the Sunrise Brand, overseeing all activities associated with the main brand. Richartz, who had been responsible for Sunrise’s sales channels since 2012, previously held key positions at Orange Switzerland and Telefónica O2 Germany. He transitioned to become Chief YOL (Flanker Brands) Officer in 2020 and assumed responsibility for Sunrise Customer Relations in 2022.
Stefan Fuchs will be the Chief Consumer Officer for Flanker Brands and a member of the Sunrise Executive Committee. In this capacity, he will be responsible for all activities related to the flanker brands. Fuchs, who has been a part of the Liberty Global Group for over a decade, held significant marketing positions at various Liberty Global subsidiaries. He was the Chief Marketing Officer at UPC Switzerland and took over as Chief Commercial Officer in January 2020. Following the merger of Sunrise and UPC, Fuchs assumed responsibility for the Flanker Brands in 2022.
Severina Pascu’s departure leaves behind a robust succession pipeline, ensuring a smooth transition in Sunrise’s leadership and a continued commitment to excellence in the telecommunications industry.
