China Mobile ARPU up 0.8% thanks to 689 mn users on 5G platform

China Mobile has reported 10.3 percent increase in revenue to RMB250.7 billion in Q1 2023, powered by 8.3 percent rise in telecommunications services revenue of RMB209.8 billion.

China Mobile has 983 million mobile customers including 689 million on 5G platform. China Mobile has 281 million wireline broadband customers.

China Mobile said the numbers of 5G package customers and 5G network customers reached 689 million and 363 million respectively during the first quarter of the year, thanks to its investment in 5G business.

China Mobile’s data traffic maintained stable growth with handset data traffic increasing at 15.4 percent and handset data DOU amounting to 14.7GB. Total voice usage increased by 0.9 percent to 714.9 billion minutes. Mobile ARPU increased by 0.8 percent to RMB47.9.

China Mobile’s wireline broadband customer base reached 281 million as it added 8.72 million users in Q1. The number of household broadband customers reached 251 million, with a quarterly net increase of 7.00 million.

China Mobile’s wireline broadband ARPU dropped 3.1 percent to RMB31.4 in the first quarter of the year. China Mobile’s household customer blended ARPU grew 3.5 percent to RMB39.2.
