Vodafone Idea announced the launch of TurboNet 4G in select cities of UP West, Rajasthan and Rest of Bengal markets following the integration of the network.
Vodafone Idea’s network engineering team headed by chief technology officer Vishant Vora has completed its radio network integration in order to boost network capacity and coverage across large parts of the country.
The Capex related investment in the deployment of technologies such as dynamic spectrum re-farming (DSR), spectrum re-farming, M-MIMO, L900, TDD and small cells is assisting Vodafone Idea to expand mobile data network coverage and capacity.
Vodafone Idea will launch TurboNet 4G in other telecom circles across the country over the next few months, in a phased manner.
Vodafone Idea has increased its 4G coverage to cover 830 million population of India. 4G coverage has been expanded to cover 340 million additional population for Brand Vodafone and 230 million for Brand Idea.
Vodafone Idea’s network integration is continuing at a rapid pace with 72 percent of districts in India already consolidated. 4G speeds have improved by more than 50 percent in consolidated circles.
Vodafone Idea CTO Vishant Vora said: “Vodafone Idea is becoming a higher powered, super charged 4G network on the back of larger number of cellular sites, deployment of future technologies and greater spectrum allocation.”
