U.S. Cellular to add 600 4G LTE cell sites in 2015 

U.S. Cellular today said it will be adding more than 600 4G LTE cell sites in 2015.

The American telecoms will expand existing 4G LTE service in 10 states. The target is to offer 4G LTE speeds to 98 percent of U.S. Cellular customers by the end of 2015.

The company did not share specific Capex (capital spending) plan for expanding its 4G LTE coverage in 10 states.

U.S. Cellular 4G LTE network will be available in California, Maine, Maryland, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Oregon, Vermont, Virginia, Washington and West Virginia. More than 2,000 new cities and towns will receive 4G LTE speeds.

Michael S Irizarry, executive vice president and chief technology officer of U.S. Cellular, said: “This network expansion brings fast 4G LTE speeds to areas that other carriers ignore, illustrating our commitment to provide our customers the best high-quality network.”
