EE on 4G LTE expansion spree, to add 19 places before Christmas

British telecom service provider EE on Wednesday said it has expanded its 4G LTE coverage to 10 more U.K. towns and cities. It will add 19 more places before Christmas.

EE in a statement said the expansion enables the telecoms to offers 4GEE mobile Internet in 160 places.

Its 4G is available from £18.99 per month with a free Samsung Android smartphone. EE’s pay as you go deal is priced at £10 for 1GB of data and 2,014 free voice minutes for the coming year.

Following the expansion, EE predicts a record-breaking month of 4G sales in the run up to Christmas.

EE Chief Executive Officer Olaf Swantee said that smartphones and tablets on 4GEE would be a popular present this Christmas as people across the U.K. continue to embrace mobile living.

According to 4GEE Mobile Living Index, 39 percent of 4GEE customers say they will buy their gifts on their smartphone or tablet this year – up from 15 percent last year – with fashion, electronics and books the most popular purchases.
