Mobile service provider China Telecom has selected Nokia Solutions and Networks (NSN) for its LTE 4G roll out.
Earlier, China Telecom and Alcatel-Lucent announced a similar deal.
NSN says it is a major contract. However, NSN did not disclose financial details and 4G roll out plans.
China Mobile, which competes with China Telecom in the 4G space, also selected NSN as one of the main LTE equipment suppliers. China Mobile is expected to unveil 4G services this year.
As per the 4G deal between China Telecom and NSN, the broadband equipment vendor will supply Flexi Multiradio 10 base stations.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, NSN said the company will also provide network launch optimization, implementation supervision and care services to use resources most efficiently and to guarantee the highest network quality possible.
NSN will offer intelligent network management system, NetAct, for management of China Telecom’s multi-vendor network.
Markus Borchert, president of Greater China Region at NSN, said: “This makes us an ideal partner for guaranteeing high network quality and expertise as we support China Telecom, one of the largest mobile telecommunication providers in the country and our most recent LTE customer, with its 4G launch.”
