Alcatel-Lucent to power management of mobile devices on Verizon 4G LTE network

Verizon Wireless announced that it has deployed Mobile Device Management
(MDM) software from Motive, a division of Alcatel-Lucent, to manage 4G LTE
smartphones and tablets on its 4G LTE network.

MDM allows customers to set up their 4G LTE devices and automatically
receive software updates and upgrades.

“It’s important that our customers and employees can set up and use
4G LTE devices and applications as easily and seamlessly as possible, so they
can further optimize how they experience the power and speed of our 4G LTE
network,” said Ed Diaz, executive director, Network at Verizon Wireless.

Since introducing 4G LTE network in December 2010, Verizon Wireless has
expanded to more than 165 markets covering half of all Americans.

“Verizon Wireless is perfectly positioned to help satisfy the
consumer appetite for new 4G LTE products and services,” said Robert Vrij,
president of Alcatel-Lucent’s Americas Region.

“The easier and more intuitive we can make device set-up and
management, the more positive the overall experience is for the end user. Our
Motive solution enables efficient, well-organized device management to help
transform the customer experience,” Vrij added.
