1. Ericsson
2. Huawei
3. Nokia Networks
4. ZTE
5. Alcatel-Lucent

Infonetics Research, now part of HIS, in an exclusive interaction with TelecomLead.com said: “Nokia Networks jumped into the #1 spot for LTE revenue in the 4th quarter of 2014, which put them in second place behind Ericsson for full-year 2014 LTE revenue, ahead of Huawei.”

Earlier today, Infonetics Research said that 2G, 3G, 4G mobile infrastructure market will drop from nearly $47 billion in 2019 to $27 billion in 2014 as the planet reaches the end of macrocell mobile deployments.

The possible dip in telecom Capex will be a big blow to telecom equipment vendors.

Action plan for telecoms

Telecom industry analyst firm Ovum this month said telecom Capex has slowed over the last couple of years.

Ovum, which tracked the Mobile World Congress 2015, said the focus of mobile operators – in terms of opportunities for growth – is shifting to the enterprise market.

Two to three years ago telecoms operators started to talk about opportunities to expand into adjacent markets and to develop digital services. In 2015, the focus is very much the enterprise market – more specifically, cloud services and M2M/IoT. Operator strategies in the consumer market are now evolving toward B2B2C and partnership models.

Current Analysis, after attending the MWC 2015 in Barcelona, said MWC saw continued telecom operator movement in enterprise mobility with many top-tier global operators talking up service evolutions and demonstrating new capabilities. AT&T and Microsoft launched the AT&T Mobile Office Suite, targeting US SMBs, which sees AT&T differentiating Microsoft Office 365 by building these services into a bundle.
