India has 113.32 million broadband users – 15.8 million wired subscribers and 97.04 million mobile phone and data card users – till July 2015, TRAI said.
The growth in Indian broadband user base was 4.1 percent from June 2015.
BSNL is the top wired broadband service provider with 9.92 million, while Bharti Airtel has 1.50 million, MTNL 1.13 million, Atria Convergence Technologies 0.75 million and YOU Broadband 0.47 million subscribers.
Bharti Airtel is the top wireless broadband service provider with 25.01 million users, Vodafone has 22.70 million, Idea Cellular 17.42 million, Reliance Communications 9.81 million and BSNL 8.51 million subscribers, said TRAI.
The number of telephone – wired and wireless — subscribers in India increased to 100.93 crore in July 2015 from 100.69 crore in June 2015, posting a monthly growth rate of 0.23 percent, said TRAI on Wednesday.
The urban subscription increased from 584.21 million in June 2015 to 588.53 million in July, while the rural subscription declined from 422.75 million to 420.78 million during the same period.
The overall tele-density in India increased from 79.98 in June 2015 to 80.09 in July.
Total wireless subscriber base increased from 980.81 million in June 2015 to 983.21 million in July, registering a monthly growth rate of 0.25 percent.
Airtel tops the mobile subscribers in terms of monthly additions, followed by Idea Cellular, Reliance Communications, BSNL, Aircel, Tata Docomo, Videocon and Quadrant.
Uninor or Telenor India is leading the list with maximum decline in monthly subscriber base. MTS India or Sistema Shaym Teleservices and MTNL are next to Telenor.
Wireline subscriber base declined from 26.15 million in June 2015 to 26.10 million in July.
In July 2015, 3.98 million subscribers submitted their requests for mobile number portability (MNP), said TRAI.
