The telecom and pay-TV services revenue in Thailand is projected to grow at a CAGR of 2.8 percent from $9.8bn in 2024 to $11.2bn in 2029, driven by mobile broadband.

Mobile voice service revenues in Thailand are expected to decline due to unlimited free voice minutes bundled in plans.

Mobile data service revenues in Thailand will grow at a CAGR of 5.2 percent, fueled by smartphone adoption, increasing mobile internet subscriptions, and 5G services.

4G services dominate mobile subscriptions in 2024, but 5G subscriptions will surpass 4G in Thailand by 2026, supported by rising demand and expanded 5G coverage, as seen in True’s efforts to modernize 10,000 sites and achieve 95 percent 5G coverage by 2025.

Fixed voice services in Thailand will continue to decline, while fixed broadband revenue will grow at a CAGR of 2 percent, driven by FTTH/B broadband subscriptions. Demand for high-speed broadband, improved FTTH networks, fiber expansion initiatives, and DSL phase-out will boost fiber broadband growth.

Pay-TV services revenue in Thailand will grow at a CAGR of 6.6 percent, driven by IPTV subscriptions and a steady rise in DTH and cable TV subscribers. True will lead the mobile service market in 2024, with strong prepaid and postpaid segments, while AIS dominates the fixed broadband market with a robust FTTH presence.
