Vodafone call center in rural Rajasthan
Telecom network operator Vodafone India has set up a call center at Jobner in rural Rajasthan offering job opportunities to local people.

The strategy of Vodafone India is to enhance mobile users experience by allowing them to talk to a call center agent who can also understand and speak in their local language Marwari. This apart, Vodafone India, which has a strong rural presence in India, can create empolyment in rural telecom markets.

According to COAI, Vodafone India has 8.18 million subscribers in rural Rajasthan till October 2015. In India, Vodafone is the second largest rural telecom operator with 100.33 million subscribers against Airtel India’s 113.92 million Idea Cellular’s 91.58 million, Aircel’s 29.11 million and Telenor’s 15.16 million in rural areas.

The company has completed the recruitment of 25 people from Jobner and surrounding villages. The mobile operator aims to hire 100 employees over the coming six months creating additional job opportunities to rural people.

Vodafone India has provided direct and indirect employment to over 5000 people in Rajasthan.

The Vodafone call center at Jobneris will help the company in generating more employment in rural Rajasthan.

“We believe these employees will also be better equipped to understand and serve the needs of our customers in the state by interacting with customers in their Marwari local language as well,” said Amit Bedi, business head – Rajasthan, Vodafone India.
