Vodafone to create 2,100 telecom jobs in UK

Vodafone 4G coverageTelecom operator Vodafone Group announced plans to create 2,100 new customer services roles over the next two years in the UK.

The telecom jobs will be created across the Midlands, the North of England and Scotland, said Vodafone UK.

Vodafone will create around 800 jobs at the company’s customer services centre in Manchester; almost 150 jobs at its contact centre in Newark; more than 150 jobs at its existing Stoke contact centre; and around 100 jobs at its existing Glasgow contact centre.

In addition, Vodafone UK’s third-party customer service partners will create almost 600 jobs in Newcastle, almost 200 jobs in the West of Scotland and 100 jobs in Cardiff.

Vodafone aims to enhance the quality of its UK customer services operations as part of its £2 billion investment program over the 2016-19 period.

Vodafone UK said its 4G coverage reaches 97 percent of the UK population.

P3 Connect One, a mobile network testing company, in November 2016, rated Vodafone as the UK’s leading network provider for calls – and the strongest network for voice and data in London.

“These roles will make a real difference to our customers and a real difference to the communities that are the focus of our customer services investment,” Vodafone UK Chief Executive Nick Jeffery said.
