As of late August 2026, T-Mobile has around 2,240 current vacancies, Verizon lists 1,184 jobs, Deutsche Telekom has more than 800 openings, and Vodafone Idea shows 302 vacancies. Reliance Jio’s recruitment portal also contains thousands of listings across India.

The hiring pattern highlights a significant change in telecom employment. Operators increasingly need engineers and technology specialists capable of managing cloud-native networks, 5G core infrastructure, automation, AI, cybersecurity and data platforms, alongside employees for retail, enterprise sales and customer operations.

Here are 10 leading telecom operators with vacancies currently available.

T-Mobile Has Around 2,240 Jobs Available

T-Mobile US is one of the biggest telecom recruiters based on vacancies currently displayed on its official recruitment platform. The operator had approximately 2,240 jobs available in late August 2026.

T-Mobile telecom job vacancies are spread across retail, business sales, technology, customer experience and corporate functions. The portal showed 217 business-sales jobs, 16 customer-experience positions, 12 field-engineering jobs, 18 finance positions, 10 human-resources jobs and three cybersecurity openings, among other categories.

California alone accounted for approximately 246 vacancies, while Florida had 97 and Colorado 64. Around 135 jobs were classified as remote.

Technology opportunities include software engineering, data engineering, billing-platform development and network-related sourcing. T-Mobile is therefore hiring even as it restructures other parts of its workforce, showing how telecom employment is shifting toward priority growth and technology functions.

Verizon Lists 1,184 Current Job Vacancies

Verizon’s official career portal showed 1,184 matching jobs in late August, making the US operator another major source of telecom employment.

Verizon telecom and network jobs listing shows current vacancies extend across network engineering, operations, enterprise sales, retail and technology. Examples include VoIP Technical Support Engineer in North Carolina, Strategic Account Manager in California, Director – Customer Growth in Illinois, Account Manager for SMB business sales in Florida and multiple Retail Sales Associate positions.

Verizon is also recruiting technology professionals in India. A Principal Engineer – Technical Project Management vacancy was available in Hyderabad with an application deadline of August 31.

The recruitment is significant because Verizon has simultaneously been reducing employment in some areas. The continued presence of more than 1,000 openings suggests that its workforce transformation involves both job elimination and recruitment for functions considered strategically important.

Deutsche Telekom Has More Than 800 Job Openings

Deutsche Telekom’s global careers website currently advertises more than 800 job openings, spanning Germany and its international operations.

Technology represents an important part of the recruitment drive. Deutsche Telekom is looking for expertise covering cybersecurity, cloud, data science, IT development, consulting and digital technologies. The operator also maintains a Talent Club specifically targeting technology and IT professionals.

The jobs are spread across markets including Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Greece, Poland, Slovakia and Spain. Deutsche Telekom says more than 74,000 employees work in Germany alone, while its overall workforce approaches 200,000 people.

In Greece, its recruitment operation covers Cosmote and T-Digital, where around 600 IT experts work in Athens and Thessaloniki. The openings demonstrate continuing demand for digital expertise as traditional telecom operators become increasingly software- and cloud-driven businesses.

Reliance Jio Is Hiring Engineers, Apprentices and Customer Service Employees

Reliance Jio’s recruitment portal is displaying a substantial pipeline of vacancies across India, with its search interface extending across more than 3,000 pages of job listings.

Among the newest positions are Jio Point Manager, posted on August 28, and several Apprentice Engineer vacancies in Mumbai posted on August 27. Other recent jobs include Core Maintenance Utilities Engineer in Rayagada, Area Service Incharge in North Kolkata and customer-care positions in Bokaro Steel City and Ranchi.

Listing at Reliance Jio jobs in India shows the diversity of vacancies reflects the scale of Jio’s operations. Recruitment covers engineering and technology, sales and distribution, customer service and apprenticeship programmes.

For fresh engineering graduates, the Apprentice Engineer vacancies are particularly relevant because they provide an entry point into India’s largest mobile network. Experienced candidates can explore network maintenance, service operations, sales and management positions.

Vodafone Idea Has 302 Current Job Opportunities

Vodafone Idea is actively recruiting even as the Indian telecom operator continues its network transformation and 5G expansion. Its official recruitment portal displayed 302 current job opportunities in August 2026.

Technology vacancies include Manager – Field Ops RAN in Agra, Manager – BSS O&M in Ahmedabad and Indore, and Manager – MW Planning in Guwahati.

Commercial opportunities include GM – Mass Distribution in Baroda, GM – Area Sales in Ahmedabad and Manager – Territory Sales in Kota.

The current vacancies demonstrate demand across both network operations and revenue-generating functions. For telecom engineers, openings in RAN operations, BSS operations and microwave planning are directly connected with running and expanding mobile networks.

Vodafone Idea’s recruitment therefore offers opportunities for experienced telecom professionals as the operator expands 4G coverage and its 5G network across India.

Telefonica Is Recruiting Cloud, Security and Network Specialists

Telefonica continues to advertise technology and commercial vacancies, particularly in Spain, despite workforce restructuring in parts of its European operations.

Among the latest positions posted in late August are Senior Data Cloud Engineer, Senior Cloud Security Engineer, Account Executive and N1 operations positions in Madrid.

The Senior Data Cloud Engineer vacancy illustrates Telefonica’s growing requirement for specialists capable of working on cloud and data infrastructure. Cybersecurity is another active recruitment area, with the operator seeking senior security engineering expertise.

Other current opportunities extend into Movistar Plus, Telefónica’s media business, including production and technical positions.

The recruitment pattern is important because Telefónica Germany is reducing jobs. Current vacancies indicate that the broader group is simultaneously reallocating employment toward cloud, security, data, digital services and other priority capabilities.

AT&T Is Recruiting 5G and Cloud Technology Specialists

AT&T continues to recruit technology professionals for advanced telecom-network functions, including opportunities associated with its mobile core, 5G, IMS and cloud infrastructure.

One current position in Bengaluru is Manager – Technology, covering IMS, messaging, voicemail platforms and cloud. The role sits within AT&T’s Network CTO organisation, which oversees technology direction for the company’s global mobile and fixed networks.

The employee is expected to provide technical leadership covering architecture, design, certification, testing, integration and delivery of advanced Mobility Core network functions and network-services applications.

This illustrates the changing profile of telecom engineering employment. Operators increasingly need specialists who understand both conventional network architecture and software-based cloud platforms.

For experienced telecom engineers, skills covering 5G Core, IMS, cloud, network applications, integration and testing are becoming particularly valuable as networks move toward software-defined architectures.

Vodafone Continues Recruiting Across Technology, IoT and Customer Operations

Vodafone continues to advertise vacancies through its global recruitment platform across its international operations.

Its recruitment is organised around major functions including technology, sales, commercial operations, customer service, corporate functions and Internet of Things.

Technology recruitment is particularly relevant as Vodafone develops increasingly software-driven networks and digital services. Opportunities can involve building and operating networks, creating digital platforms and supporting enterprise connectivity.

IoT is another important employment area because Vodafone operates one of the world’s major managed IoT connectivity businesses. Enterprise digitalisation consequently creates demand for technical, commercial and customer-facing specialists capable of connecting devices and business systems.

Vodafone also operates early-career programmes alongside recruitment of experienced professionals. Candidates can search its global vacancy database by role and location, providing access to openings across multiple Vodafone markets and shared-service operations.

BT Group Has Vacancies Across BT, EE and Plusnet

BT Group continues to recruit through its unified careers portal covering BT, EE and Plusnet, creating employment opportunities across fixed broadband, mobile communications, enterprise technology and consumer services.

The company is recruiting both experienced professionals and early-career candidates. Available positions can be searched by keyword and location through the group’s current vacancies platform.

Technology skills are becoming increasingly important as BT expands fibre infrastructure and automates network operations. Opportunities consequently span software, networks, cybersecurity, digital platforms and technology operations alongside customer service, sales and corporate functions.

EE provides an additional route for candidates seeking careers connected with mobile services, while BT’s enterprise operations require technology and commercial specialists serving business customers.

The continuing recruitment should be viewed alongside BT’s wider workforce-reduction programme: the operator is reducing employment in legacy and automatable functions while still requiring skills for its fibre and digital transformation.

Orange Is Hiring for Telecom’s Shift Toward Digital Networks

Orange continues to recruit across its international telecom and digital-services operations, with vacancies spanning network technology, cybersecurity, data, cloud, software, enterprise services, sales and customer-facing functions.

Technology jobs are becoming particularly important as Orange shifts investment toward 5G, fibre, cloud services, cybersecurity and software-based network operations.

The operator’s employment opportunity extends beyond France because Orange has operations across Europe, Africa and the Middle East. That geographical footprint creates demand for network engineers, IT professionals, digital specialists and commercial employees across markets with significantly different stages of fibre and 5G development.

Orange’s recruitment also reflects a broader industry transition: traditional network engineering is increasingly converging with IT. Candidates with combined telecom and software skills — particularly in cloud, cybersecurity, data, automation and AI — are increasingly relevant to the operator’s transformation.

Telecom Job Vacancies Show Strong Demand for 5G, Cloud, AI and Software Skills

Current recruitment figures show that telecom operators remain major technology employers despite widespread restructuring across the industry.

T-Mobile currently has around 2,240 openings, Verizon lists 1,184 jobs, Deutsche Telekom advertises more than 800 vacancies, and Vodafone Idea has 302 current opportunities. Reliance Jio’s careers search extends across thousands of listings.

However, the nature of telecom employment is changing rapidly.

Operators are recruiting fewer people simply to operate traditional network infrastructure and increasingly seeking expertise in 5G Core, cloud, cybersecurity, software engineering, AI, data science, automation, IoT and digital platforms.

Current openings at Jio for apprentice and network engineers, Vodafone Idea for RAN and microwave specialists, Telefonica for cloud and cybersecurity engineers, and AT&T for Mobility Core technology demonstrate that telecom operators still need deep network expertise. The difference is that tomorrow’s telecom engineer increasingly needs software and cloud skills alongside conventional mobile-network knowledge.
