Videocon Telecom announces 2,489 new cell sites and 231 stores

Videocon Telecom announced 2,489 new cell sites and 231 new exclusive stores in existing telecom circles.

Videocon Telecom is targeting more than 10 million subscriber acquisitions and revenue of Rs 3,000 crore in fiscal 2015-16.

In FY 2014-15, Videocon Telecom said its revenue rose 53 percent to Rs 1,974 crore from its GSM business, NLD/ILD and Punjab Wireline business. Its target was to achieve Rs 2,000 crore revenue in FY 2014-15.

Videocon Telecom achieved approx 19 percent share of incremental customer market share in its 4 operational circles in FY 2014-15. The Indian telecom service provider achieved 38 percent growth in its subscriber base and crossed 10 million subscribers as on March 2015.

Minutes of usage grew 32 percent in 2014-15. The telecom company reported 28 percent increase in its NRPM (Net rate per min) during the year.  Data revenues rose 147 percent. Data contributes to over 11.5 percent of Gross Revenue (GR). Videocon Telecom says data will contributed 15 percent of GR by end of FY 2015-16.

Arvind Bali, director and CEO of Videocon Telecom said: “Year 2014-15 has been quite eventful and fulfilling for us. Just to list some of our achievements, we achieved 99 percent of our targeted Gross Revenue of 2000 Cr and grew our Top line by 53 percent over previous financial year.”

Videocon Telecom has crossed 1 crore subscriber mark in 4 circles. This apart, it achieved nearly 19 percent incremental customer market share in 4 circles with a dominant leadership in Punjab and Haryana during last financial year.
