Verizon launches new practice to develop telematics solutions

By Telecom Lead Team:
Leading telecommunications provider Verizon is strengthening its
machine-to-machine (M2M) business with the launch of a new practice that focused
on developing telematics solutions.

“Telematics services have been growing rapidly for the
past decade,” said Martin Thall, who will lead the new telematics

vehicle technology and increasing commercial fleet management requirements have
set the stage for even steeper growth.”

The practice will leverage Verizon‘s expertise in wireless, cloud and mobility platforms to develop and
deploy integrated telematics solutions for key industries including automotive
and transportation, according to Thall. With over 15 years of OETM telematics industry
experience, the company is readying to further leverage its 4G LTE and cloud
analytics capabilities to help build advanced telematics solutions.

Thall, who has also served Microsoft Corp. and
Hewlett-Packard predecessor company Digital Equipment Corp, gas got 250-year
technology experience in the industry. He was chief executive officer and
founder of Vehicle ICT Corp., a management consulting company based in Redmond,
Wash., and focused on connecting traditional automotive companies and niche
technology providers to improve driver and passenger experience globally.
