Telecom network operator TeliaSonera said its decision to combine commercial and technology groups into a new unit.

TeliaSonera will appoint a new head for the new unit.

“We are maximizing and aligning our commercial and technology agendas in order to fully leverage our strengths as a Group. This will bring our operations even closer to the customers, ensure faster time to market and delivery on our transformation agenda,” said TeliaSonera CEO Johan Dennelind.

TeliaSonera also said its technology group head Malin Frenning will leave the telecom operator. Malin has been with TeliaSonera for more than 20 years and has been instrumental in turning the company into one of Europe’s leading operators.

Earlier, TeliaSonera announced its decision to reduce its presence in Eurasia.
