TeliaSonera Capex surges 31% to $539 mn in Q2 2015

TeliaSonera today said its Capex (Capital expenditure), excluding spectrum and license, increased 31.4 percent to SEK 4,596 million in Q2 2015.

The Capex-to-service revenue ratio increased to 19.4 percent from 15.7 percent. Capex-to-service revenue ratio, excluding license and spectrum fees, increased to 19.4 percent from 15.6 percent. Said TeliaSonera announcing the Q2 financial result.

In Sweden, TeliaSonera said its Capex increased to SEK 1,577 million from SEK 1,197 million and Capex, excluding licenses and spectrum fees, increased to SEK 1,577 million from SEK 1,197 million.

“We continue to invest in our networks to offer our customers superior connectivity wherever they are. Our mobile, broadband and TV operations all delivered positive service revenue growth, supported by higher ARPU and positive net customer intake, while fixed telephony continued to decline,” said Johan Dennelind, president and CEO of TeliaSonera.

In Norway, TeliaSonera said its Capex increased to SEK 1,410 million from SEK 952 million and Capex, excluding licenses and spectrum fees, increased to SEK 1,410 million from SEK 952 million. The telecom operator said its 4G-population coverage in Norway surpassed 90 percent.

In Eurasia, TeliaSonera said its Capex increased to SEK 887 million from SEK 670 million and Capex, excluding licenses and spectrum fees, increased to SEK 903 million from SEK 652 million.

“Our fiber rollout gained further momentum backed by strong consumer demand. We expect to connect more than 50,000 single-family homes in 2015, an increase by around 50 percent compared to last year,” said Dennelind.

TeliaSonera said its total Capex for the full year will be approximately SEK 17 billion, excluding license and spectrum fees.
