Telefonica tax contribution reaches €7.472 mn in 2025, reinforcing ESG and transparency strategy

Telefonica reported a total tax contribution of €7.472 million in 2025, underlining its significant role in supporting public finances across its global markets. The company allocated €21.3 of every €100 in revenue to tax payments, highlighting its position as one of the leading taxpayers in key regions.

Out of the total contribution, €2.360 million represented taxes borne directly by the group, while €5.112 million came from taxes collected on behalf of governments, including corporation tax, social security contributions, and other national and regional obligations.

Spain remained the largest contributor with €3.043 million, followed by Brazil at €2.207 million and Germany at €1.224 million. These figures reflect Telefonica’s strong operational footprint and fiscal impact in major markets.

Aligned with OECD guidelines, Telefonica’s tax policy emphasizes integrity, transparency, and regulatory compliance, as detailed in its 2025 Tax Transparency Report. The company’s governance framework, overseen by its Board of Directors, ensures robust internal controls and transparent engagement with regulators.

Tax transparency remains central to Telefonica’s ESG strategy, supporting inclusive digital development and contributing to the achievement of United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
