Telecom Lead Asia: Tata Communications has signed an interconnection agreement with AT&T to expand business video ecosystem.
Peter Quinlan, vice president, Integrated Business Video Services, Tata Communications, said the creation of an open ecosystem in which service providers align and interconnect their respective business video communities will allow enterprise customers to receive best service possible.
The interconnect agreement with AT&T is part of Tata Communications’ strategy to make business video a global collaboration tool for enterprises, regardless of network, service provider or location.
Tata Communications’ strategy to create the world’s richest, connected and open video ecosystem includes: business-to-business video services, cloud-based services and flexible, modular, managed services; widest-reaching Telepresence networks via inter-provider agreements and the largest public Telepresence room footprint.
AT&T is working with a number of service and technology providers in the industry to enable more pervasive and global video collaboration capabilities.
According to Informa Telecoms & Media, video accounts for 50 percent of annual internet traffic growth.
Alan Benway, executive director of AT&T Business Solutions, said the interprovider agreement with Tata Communications will be broadening access for AT&T Telepresence Solution customers as they look to collaborate through even more endpoints globally.
