Sprint appoints former Verizon executive Tracy Elizabeth Nolan as president

Sprint has appointed former Verizon Wireless president Tracy Elizabeth Nolan as president and general manager for Illinois and Wisconsin.

With this newly created position, Sprint aims to focus on key cities in the Midwest, including Chicago and Milwaukee. Nolan will be responsible for sales strategy, network oversight, customer service, marketing communications and general operations in Illinois and Wisconsin.

Sprint will develop market-specific offerings to reflect the needs of customers across the consumer and business segments in Illinois and Wisconsin.

The SoftBank promoted Sprint is planning telecom network enhancement, job creation, retail store expansion, significant marketing and advertising spending, and civic investment to the Chicagoland area. The investment includes opening 115 new stores and the addition of approximately 540 new jobs.

“We expect customers in Illinois and Wisconsin will be the real winners as they reap the benefits of Tracy’s track record as a leader and innovator,” said Jaime Jones, president of Postpaid Consumer and General Business for Sprint.

Nolan, based in Chicago, will direct a team of more than 900 employees.

Nolan, a former president of Verizon Wireless for the Illinois/Wisconsin area, comes to Sprint most recently from Hyla Mobile, formerly eRecycling Corp., where she was senior vice president of Carrier Operations and Business Development and supported the Verizon account.
