Singtel launches 10x faster Internet to access cloud apps

mobile Internet subscribersTelecom operator Singtel has launched ConnectPlus Optimised Internet Service for enterprises worldwide — promising higher data speeds.

In addition to Internet connectivity, the latest service from Singtel allows enterprises to access cloud applications by up to 10 times faster than conventional internet connectivity.

“Many enterprises use the internet to access their applications on public clouds as it is convenient and widely available. However, internet access can be affected by unstable connectivity or latency issues,” said Bill Chang, chief executive officer of Group Enterprise at Singtel.

Singtel Optimised Internet Service comprises two features: Singtel’s ConnectPlus Optimised Internet Cloud Access and ConnectPlus Optimised Internet VPN (Virtual Private Network).

The ConnectPlus Optimised Internet Cloud Access overcomes latency, providing users with up to 10 times faster access to public cloud applications.

The Singtel Optimised Internet VPN empowers enterprises to use the Internet to extend their corporate VPN to branch offices. This allows the branch offices to enjoy secure, fast and reliable enterprise-grade Internet with guaranteed availability and high throughput.

The new service complements Singtel’s ConnectPlus Internet Protocol VPN network of more than 428 Points-of-Presence (PoP) around the world.

Enterprises can use a hybrid WAN architecture to channel less critical data onto the public internet, and more critical data onto the IP VPN across different geographic regions.
