Users of Vodafone Idea (Vi) across several key metropolitan areas such as Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Pune experienced a significant mobile network outage in the early hours of Friday, April 18.
The disruption began around 12:30 am and reached its peak shortly after 1:00 am, leaving many phone users without access to mobile connectivity during that time. Nokia is one of the telecom equipment suppliers for Vodafone Idea.
The telecom provider later confirmed that the issue was due to a technical glitch that temporarily affected their services. After identifying and addressing the problem, Vi stated that the issue had been fully resolved and that services were restored to normal functioning.
In an official statement, a Vi spokesperson acknowledged the network interruption and clarified the nature of the disruption, noting that it was limited in duration and scope. The company expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to its customers, offering an apology for the brief lapse in service. They also extended their gratitude to users for their patience and understanding while the issue was being resolved.
