AXIAN Telecom has secured $100 million from EIB Global to expand 4G and 5G networks in Madagascar and Tanzania. The investment, part of the EU Global Gateway plan, aims to improve digital services in Africa. AXIAN serves over 44 million customers across nine African countries. The funds will be split between Tanzania (US$ 60 million) and Madagascar (US$ 40 million). This will help meet the rising demand for mobile services and support growth in the region.
Nokia selected by Australian cloud provider ResetData
Nokia has been chosen by Australian cloud provider ResetData to provide the networking infrastructure for its rollout of sovereign ‘AI Factory’ data centers across Australia. The Nokia IP solution, built on the FP5 platform, offers high-speed, low-latency, and secure performance essential for AI workloads, while reducing energy consumption by 75 percent compared to previous systems. ResetData’s new AI factories, using liquid immersion cooling, are up to 10 times more efficient than traditional data centers, lowering cloud costs by 40 percent and emissions by 45 percent. These sovereign AI facilities keep data within national borders, ensuring compliance with Australian laws. Backed by Centuria Capital Group, ResetData will deploy the Nokia 7750 Service Router in commercial properties across the country, starting in Melbourne’s CBD. The initiative comes as Australia’s cloud services market experiences rapid growth, with a 19 percent year-on-year increase in 2024, highlighting strong demand for efficient, secure, and locally governed AI infrastructure.
